Alan Jackson’s 2001 hit “Where Were You” positively touched a nerve that affected the country 11 years ago. His memorable phrase
“I know Jesus and I talk to God and I knew this when I was young, faith, hope and love are some things that he gave us but the greatest is love “
brought hope to uncertainty. Hi, this is Pastor John from 1049 The River.
Let’s also not forget the honorable service and call to rescue that 403 firefighters, paramedics and police gave that day by giving their lives for thousands of others. So take a moment and pause this week to acknowledge this historical event…yes! But also ponder the historical event concerning the one who rescues us from eternal separation from God. We all have sinned and fall short, and in no way, shape or form, can we save ourselves. Jesus has come to rescue and has commissioned Christians, including you and I, to communicate God’s rescue plan, metaphorically speaking, to people whose lives are burning down. This week, if you haven’t done this, confess your sins, turn to God and call upon the name of the Lord to save you.
